Site Access

Binhamy Castle is located at Cleavelands off Stratton Road.

As there is limited space for parking, visitors are advised to access the site on foot.

Coming up Stratton Road from Bude take a right turn into the road marked Cleavelands, just

above the school. Follow the lane down for about 150 yards until you see a wooded area on your right.

You are now at the site which may be entered over a causeway. Either side of the causeway a well defined moat can be seen.

Extensive undergrowth hides any over view of the site.

The site is un-excavated so it is not known what lies under the numerous mounds.

The four sides of the moat can be viewed of which the western side is the most spectacular.

Exit may be made from the southern end although this is not recommended.
